ANTI-AGING AND IV THERAPY CONT

QUESTION: Do you have any anti-aging protocols? We have limited access to certain ingredients compared to others. My patient is specifically interested in collagen support. Do you have dosage recommendations for lysine or carnitine? Anything specific for joint pain? MSM, Glucosamine sulfate? I don’t have any formulas in my notes using these things and am wondering about combining with other ingredients and dosages.

ANSWER: Nice thing about a protocol aimed at “anti-aging” is almost anything fits that bill. The real core (any you can build around and embellish as you see fit) include: GSH and GSH support co-factors [Mg,Se,Zn,Mg; B2,3,5] plus collagen support [Vit-C, Zn, Proline, Lysine and aminos] and then cell and mitochondrial support [methyl donors, carnitine, taurine and the B-Vits as above plus B-1] all best done in a hydrating setting. Later you can add phospholipids etc…I use 1-3 grams l-Carn or 300-900 mg Acetyl-l-Carnitine. No IV Glucosamine (although OK in inter-articular use). Generally DMSO or MSM in some cases is specific for arthralgia and tissue pain. Should be dosing ranges and admin rules in the IV notes for each. Usually 5-10 mL DMSO (if they can handle the smell) in a 500 mL IV and using MSM 15% we add 50-100 mL per 500 mL bag.
