Abstract:
Can we effectively prevent cancer (or it’s recurrence) – and if so, how? The Tumor Microenvironment (TME) is a critical battleground between preserving normal non-cancer cell growth and opposing aggressive cancer stem cell activity and recruitment. The mechanisms of the TME and normal versus cancerous tissue interaction will be described. Conditions that affect this battle will be outlined and the relationship to primary and secondary cancer prevention will be discussed.
