“Metallosis” from implants is a huge deal right now. There are many references but the first one below is a direct intervention trial.
In our office (in addition to appropriate depuration and organ support) we use IV EDTA followed by IV DMPS during the beginning of therapy for these cases, following with provoked metals testing over time.
After the IV phase we switch to an oral protocol.
