Abstract

While seemingly obvious, the issues of toxicant exposure and pathology in the GI tract are often overlooked. In this CE we will look at GI physiology affected by toxicants, exposure sources, the effect on microbiome and immune function, assessment, and natural and pharmacological therapies. Clinical management for both primary GI toxicity as well as secondary GI support during depuration and detoxification will be discussed.
