Dr. Anderson’s basic science board review class was the reason I passed my boards. With the overwhelming amount of information we are required to know, Dr. Anderson organizes and presents the material in a way that leads to true understanding, as opposed to those futile attempts at memorization. He is also quite entertaining, which helps with the stress of it all! I highly recommend Dr. Anderson’s review class to anyone studying for boards!

Dr. Paul Anderson has been the single most influential mentors of my career. I met Paul in my second year of medical school. What I gained most in our earliest interactions was the provocation to think before speaking and acting. Over the following months and years this thinking evolved into thinking broadly and thoroughly.

I learned it was not enough to simply have the answer, anyone can spew out an answer to a question, a prescription for cold, a diagnosis for a case study, it was important to know more than the basic answer.

Anyone who spent time in a lecture with Paul, knows this, his knowledge is not shallow, and his questions are not shallow as well. I was encouraged/challenged to understand the core workings of the case before me. I was asked questions leading me to understand the interplay between numerous systems at play in a single case. It was not enough to isolate the pathogenic cause of the upper respiratory tract, I was pushed to comprehend the underlying cause. And not only the cause but also the possible other consequences of the cause, and the consequences of treating the symptom as opposed to the cause; as an example, a case of upper respiratory tract infection became an investigation into reduced IgA and the patients diet.

As I moved forward in my training my relationship with Paul evolved, instead of purely investigating cause, he began to focus on effective protocols. All too often in Naturopathic circles we see these worn, dated, ineffective protocols circulating around. All too often they are recycled and re-used. Not with Paul.

Paul encouraged me to step outside of the treatment box, and look for the most effective cure in my cases. What began as un-orthodox became groundbreaking. I remember his lectures on IV nutrition in 2005 how his unique use of micro nutrition went a leap further when he began lecturing and providing IV therapy in the SCNM clinic. I remember it being seen as “excessive” or “unnecessary”. I laugh now because those who used those terms are now, 10 years later providing nutritional IV’s in their clinics.

Paul gave me the foundation to think and act like a truly effective doctor. Through his mentorship and guidance I have developed a thriving practice in Chandler Arizona. After 9 years in practice, I own two medical centers, employ and supervise 3 physicians, 6 naturopathic medical assistants, and an admin team of 10. I am booked out for a month and my practice is still growing. This success is founded on a system of diagnosis and treatment I learned working with Paul.

I am fortunate to have had Paul play such a role in my development.

I have benefitted from the guidance and expertise of Dr. A for over a decade now. As a student he was a master at teaching mundane and difficult medical board material, which were always weekend intensives, in an effective manner yet mixed it up with a little bit of humor to help keep us engaged. While in the classroom or medical center he taught medicine unlike any other doctor I ever had, he made medicine and all its scariness, just make sense. He had all the scientific knowledge and would apply it whenever it was necessary, but he was excellent at teaching practical medicine. Now as a seasoned physician, I still find myself seeking out his expertise or getting his advice on how to manage the most difficult patient cases. Even with his hectic and busy travel schedule, he always quickly responds and lends his support. It’s incredible. I couldn’t be more pleased to know he now has an online consulting resource where I can continue to have access to all of his knowledge and talents. I’ll be the first in line to sign up when it goes live.

I have professionally and personally known Dr. Paul Anderson since our meeting sometime in 2009/2010. I have had the pleasure to hear him speak, work with students and colleague’s, help patients, coordinate symposiums and have discussions on a broad range of health topics and especially in the field of integrative medicine and oncology. His abilities to communicate with others, share information and grow and learn doesn’t come from what he knows as much as from who he is. This has allowed him to speak on a broad range of situations, conditions, protocols and experience because he truly wants to help patients and he sincerely enjoys collaborating with other practitioners/researchers to bring about an improvements in the field and most especially to help the patients. He is an open and honest communicator that is willing to think outside the box and yet maintain a humble approach that he like the rest of us have much to learn and together we can vastly improve our health care system and the lives of the patients. This most successfully happens when we work together and have dialogue and discussion in our field and Paul does very well in all his communications. When you hear him speak you not only walk away with a greater understanding of the topic, you come away inspired, empowered and excited with what you just heard and you know that he put his heart and soul into providing the audience with the best experience he could. I look forward to working with him and helping others for many more years to come.
